Plymouth is a city in Devon in southwest England. It grew up around Plymouth harbor, which is one of the world's best natural harbors.
The harbor was early center for the Royal Navy, which both have led to the increased sharply, and that it was heavily damaged by Luftwaffe bombing during the Second World War. The city was rebuilt after a plan by architect Patrick Abercrombie. Marine base is the largest in Western Europe, and one of the few remaining in the UK.

As the focal point of the Plymouth harbor Smeaton's Tower has become one of the South West's most famous landmarks.
The lighthouse is 72 feet high and has a magnificent view of Plymouth Sound and the city from its observation plateau, which along with the rest of the building has been meticulously restored to its original splendor.
